Did you know that, globally, one in ten people do not have access to safe drinking water and one in three people lack proper sanitation. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), in 2015, approximately six million children under age five died in large part to medical issues directly related to the lack
of clean water and proper sanitation. Many of these children live in countries that produce the coffee that we so freely enjoy. That is why Ben's Beans is proud to partner with Water.org as one of the charities we support. For twenty years, Water.org has has pioneered safe water and sanitation solutions that give women hope, children health and communities a future.
Ben's Beans gives back on every pound of green coffee that we roast, so when you buy a bag or enjoy a cup of Ben's Beans coffee, not only are you enjoying good coffee, but you are taking part in supporting an organization that makes sure that clean water and sanitation become a standard for everyone around the world.

Although it weighs in at over 16,500 tons and stretches about 500 feet long, the Africa Mercy is just one of the four (4) ships in the Mercy Ships fleet. These ships act as floating hospitals providing healthcare and live saving surgeries to people in regions that would never have access to even the most basic of health care without Mercy Ships.
Since 1978, Mercy Ships has visited over 578 ports and provided over 79,000 life saving surgeries. For over 35 years, Mercy Ships has delivered free services valued

We know that, as a nation, Americans are blessed with freedoms and prosperity that people in most other countries do not have. However, there are also those in the United States, and even within our own local community, that have needs.
Ben's Beans believes that we should not limit our help for others to far away lands but also need to help those right
here in our local community. This is why Ben's Beans has chosen to partner with Interfaith Human Services of Putnam by supporting their Daily Bread Food Pantry. The Daily Bread Food Pantry provides Thanksgiving food baskets each year, assists with a Summer Food Program, operate the mobile and in-
house NECT Diaper Bank, arranges for emergency fuel/heating assistance when possible, furnishes a well-maintained clothing closet (the New 2 U Boutique), works to prevent homelessness and, in partnership with Connecticut Food Bank, provides mobile food bank services.
Ben's Beans supports the Thanksgiving baskets each year and has also commited ongoing support to the food bank through our Full Cup program. For each Full Cup mug sold, Bens Beans donates one pound of food to the Daily Bread Food Pantry. If you want to help support this effort, you can purchase Full Cup mugs either online or in our store.
